Ichinomiya Kantarou was ridiculed and isolated as a child because he had the capacity to see demons. Rather, he became friends with the demons and developed a strong devotion to their existence. Kantarou was taught of the most powerful demon, the ogre-eating Tengu, one day. Kantarou was awestruck by the revelation of his might and resolved to track down this demon that was far more powerful than any other, naming him Haruka in the process. Kantarou has been on the lookout for the ogre-eating Tengu ever since, and has made a fortune as a folklore writer and demon-buster. Kantarou had finally found out about a neighboring shrine while on a particular task.
